This show just began its fourth season, but this is not a review of the show. I would call it my initial impression. I decided we would try the first episode of season 4, because it is a Christmas show. That way we could decide if we want to start with the first season and start watching, plus it would be another holiday show to watch along with others I had set aside.
The show didn’t pull us in. It wasn’t bad, merely ordinary. If someone has watched the three seasons, I imagine this would have been just another addition to the franchise. But it barely held my attention. I stuck with it partly because of Matthew Horne from Gavin and Stacey. There were little things that felt off, such as how easily someone admitted their guilt, but more than anything, the show just felt like a copy of Midsomer Murders.
