SEASON ONE REVIEW:
It isn't anything amazing, but 'Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens' is watchable.
Awkwafina makes it as enjoyable as it is, without her I don't think I would've made it past episode one to be honest. I never overly laughed at any of the humour across the ten episodes, but she was at the heart of any parts I did find chucklesome - well, her and Lori Tan Chinn, who is pleasant to watch. Other cast members are basic, BD Wong is solid but the rest are hit-and-miss.
There are some good episodes, some average and one or two bad ones; looking at you, "Vagarina". What helps this show massively is the fact that the episodes only lasts for 20 minutes, which is a blessing - even if they were just 10 minutes longer, I may have stopped watching. I didn't though, the short run time means the pacing is quick. I plan to watch season two, whenever that comes.
