Alain Pelletier explores video by means of a multidisciplinary approach which combines theatre, dance, literature, music and the visual arts. His work is notable for the strong tension in it between a desire for objectivity towards the topics it takes up and the visceral pressure these same topics exert. He expresses this primordial tension through the synaesthetic possibilities of the video medium. In his work, the text, visuals and sound contaminate each other. This singular body of work has been widely seen and has received numerous awards.
