Born 21/09/1926 in Itaocara - RJ - Brasil

Ely Macedo de Souza, (Itaocara, September 21, 1926 – Rio de Janeiro, July 18, 1990), better known by her stage name Eliana Macedo or just Eliana, was a Brazilian actress and singer. Considered one of the great stars of national cinema, she was the winner of the Saci Award in 1954 – the biggest cinematographic award at the time – for her work on A Outra Face do Homem and the main artist of Atlântida Cinematográfica, the largest producer of Brazilian films at the time. In 1964, after 26 films, she abandoned her film career at the height of her stardom when musical comedies began to lose ground to the realistic dramas of Cinema Novo, claiming that she would leave the genre before it was exhausted.
