Explosion presents a tense and gripping story about a mining accident cover-up, highlighting the real-world risks of industrial negligence and power abuse. While action scenes—especially the explosive set pieces—are impressively executed, and performances by Duan Yihong and Yu Nan are commendable, the film falters slightly with unnecessary scenes and a less-than-satisfying ending. Still, its unpredictable narrative and raw intensity make it a compelling watch for those drawn to industrial thrillers and conspiracy-driven dramas.
